In his youth, our head wrangler rode saddle broncs in the rodeo. He claims to have never been thrown. But he did get off real fast a couple of times to get his hat.The primary responsibility of the wrangler is the safety of the riders. This responsibility begins with the quality and training of the horses. You will not find a finer group of horses than those on which you will be riding at the Bit-O-Wyo Ranch.
All of the horses are in top condition and are completely comfortable with guests of all ages. They go through "trail training week” before the guest season begins and as a result, are not only gentle, but more importantly, reliable. You will enjoy getting to know, Apache, Bridger, Cheyenne, Cody, Colter, Red Cloud, Red Rocks, Sage, Samson, Shoshoni, Sundance and Wapiti.
Saddlery and related equipment is checked daily and replaced even if only slightly damaged. Guests who wish to learn how to saddle a horse are given instructions as to how to proceed and then coached and observed by the wranglers before each ride.
The Bit-O-Wyo Ranch has never had an injury producing accident of any kind much less one related to equine activities.
